Thank you The Derm Lab Brisbane for sharing this wonderful article…….
Finding a body contouring technique that actually works can be a challenge! Many people suffer from “problem areas”, these are parts of the body where fat deposits stubbornly refuse to shift, despite exercise and a healthy diet.
Often unwanted fat deposits just won’t disappear, despite an individual’s best efforts.
It’s unclear why pockets of fat remain despite a healthy weight, some studies suggest fat deposition has a significant genetic component, explaining why some people struggle to lose fat from their stomach or buttocks, whereas other people just don’t have that problem.
If you’ve worked hard to get your figure in shape but are still struggling with a problem area, read on to discover more about two treatments which have been scientifically proven to make a difference.
Cryolipolysis…
Contrary to popular belief, when you lose weight, you don’t actually see a reduction in the number of fat cells you have; rather, the fat cells shrink.
What this means is that even if you are an ideal weight, you will still have the same number of fat cells as a much larger person.
Fat cells are what cause unwanted sags or rolls on the body: no amount of dieting is going to actually cause fat cells to disappear.
If you want to reduce the number of fat cells you have in a particular part of the body, the answer could lie in cryolipolysis.
Cryolipolysis, or fat freezing, involves the destruction of fat cells in a “problem area”.
The cryolipolysis treatment freezes the fat cells, which ultimately causes them to die.
The cells are then excreted in the same way as any other dead cells in the body.
Fat freezing treatment will not cause you to lose weight but does have the potential to reduce the number of fat cells in a particular area.
This, in turn, will normally make a noticeable positive difference to the area, creating a sharper contour.
Fat freezing is non-invasive and can be used on most of the traditional “problem areas” of the body, including the abdomen, flanks or “muffin top”, bra bulge, thighs, arms, double chin and upper back.
Proven to be effective and actually make a difference, patients can expect to see a reduction in fat cells of around 25% in the treated area in a single treatment.
EMSCULPT…
The perfect successor to fat freezing, EMSCULPT providers a super toning effect on the muscles beneath the fatty layer.
When used correctly, EMSCULPT increases muscle in the treated area at the same time as reducing fat.
The net result is an increase in definition and contour – a sharper, leaner look.
Some estimates suggest that a thirty-minute session of EMSCULPT has the same effect on the muscles as 20,000 squats or crunches (depending on where the treatment is applied).
Essentially it offers a fast, super-toning action which can make a noticeable difference to the look of the buttocks or stomach.
EMSCULPT is non-invasive and results are usually quite fast: 4 x 30minute sessions, spaced out over a fortnight or so, are likely to deliver noticeable improvements in appearance.
