Thank you for the wonderful advice Wicked Event Management…
There are many reasons to have a bucks party in Cairns.
In between selecting menus, organising seating arrangements, managing guest lists and picking flowers, there isn’t a whole heap of time to spare to plan the bachelor party.
This is an opportunity for you to kick back, relax and enjoy some time with the boys before your big wedding day. Located in tropical sunny North Queensland, you couldn’t have a better summer location. Surrounded by km’s of white sandy lined beaches to explore.
There are plenty of places across Australia that offer excitement, adrenaline activities and fun, but we reckon Cairns is the next big thing. Why? It’s literally brimming with stunning scenery, waterfall hikes, delicious food, crafty cocktails and adventures waiting to be had.
Five reasons for you to have a buck’s party in Cairns
The Beaches
Cairns’ beaches look like a desktop screen saver making it one of the top bucks party destinations in Australia. No joke. They’re quite literally where the rainforest meets the sea, which means you can go from looking at azure blue waters to lush, tropical greenery without even having to move.
While Cairns is right on the water, there are plenty of nearby beaches to explore too. Palm Cove is one of the most popular picks, and it’s only around 20-minutes away by car. This beach is a place where you spend your days relaxing on palm-lined shores or get your body moving with a kayaking trip out to the nearby islands.
Nudey Beach is also just a hop, skip and jump from Cairns, and was recently named Australia’s number one beach, so you know you’re in for a treat. The glistening blue waters are exactly the way Goldilocks likes it – not too hot, not too cold but just right.
Waterfalls
Forget what TLC told you, it’s totally worth it to go chasing waterfalls. In fact, we’d go as far as to say that a tropical vacay is not complete if you didn’t swim under a waterfall! An incredibly beautiful range of waterfalls surrounds Cairns. Most of the sites are just a short distance out of the city centre, making them the perfect opportunity for a day trip.
One of the most popular picks is the glassy-clear Stoney Creek Falls, which takes around 10-minutes to reach from Cairns itself. This location is home to plenty of secret swimming spots, as well as some beautiful hiking trails. For those who like to get out and explore the local area there are plenty of adventures for you and the bucks group.
The tropical weather means you’ll probably build up a sweat on your walk to get there, but the final destination is well worth the effort. Whether you swim or simply marvel, you’re guaranteed a killer Instagram shot. You can finish off your waterfall tours with some nice cold beverages back at the apartments to kickstart the night.
Tropical Wines
Cairn’s has some of the best winery tours around for a bucks weekend. When we talk about Australian wine regions, most of the time people assume we’re talking about the Hunter Valley, Yarra Valley or the Barossa. While these world-class vineyards serve an impeccable drop, North Queensland’s wine region is something a little different.
What sets Cairns’ wineries apart from the rest is that you won’t find your typical Chardonnay or Shiraz there, and that’s because these winemakers use tropical fruits to craft their magic.
Rather than grapes and vineyards, you’ll find fruit orchards with mangoes, bananas, passionfruit and pineapples. The creativity of their approach means Cairns is the world’s first wine region, and we reckon that’s a good enough excuse for you to head North and make a toast.
Party Central
While most people arrive in Cairns for the natural attractions, the fun does not stop in this city when the sun goes down. As a popular destination for Aussie and overseas folk, Cairns has a pretty wild nightlife for a regional town. You’re guaranteed to find a party every single night of the week in this vibrant hub, and there is something for everyone.
The first stop for anyone visiting Cairns is the backpacker’s bars. These joints are where you can head for a cheap drink, good vibes and pumping tunes. It’s an excellent opportunity to meet people from all walks of life, while still having all your mates in the one place.
Look beyond these bustling dance floors, and you’ll find an incredible range of after-hours wining and dining options that offer a little more in the way of sophistication. These venues are known for making the most of the local produce on offer, which means you can always expect a drool-worthy feed. We recommend wearing your loosest pants and preparing to undo your top button because it’s just too hard to say no. Cairn’s has a terrific range of bucks activities, accommodation and packages to ensure your bachelor weekend is one to remember.
There is even a rainforest dining experience, where you can eat under the stars, and your ambience is provided entirely by candlelight. It’s a short drive from the city CBD and well worth the effort.
Cairns is also a place that is rich in cultural and heritage. There are plenty of opportunities to immerse yourself into Aboriginal culture, and there is a certain magic to these performances that comes alive when the sun goes down. Through the dance, storytelling and music, you’ll gain a powerful insight into the ancient traditions and legends of the Dreamtime.
No matter what your style of partying, there is something here for the party animals, history buffs or those just wanting to relax with the boys in a tropical sunny location.
The Great Barrier Reef
Well obviously, we couldn’t finish this list without including The Great Barrier Reef. Cairns is in an absolutely prime location for you to explore the reef, with easy access to Lizard Island, Fitzroy Island, and Green Island. Private boats, charters and ferries depart from the shores of Cairns every single day of the week, transporting you from the mainland out to the incredible underwater world waiting to be explored. Pack your snorkel or go all out with a scuba diving experience – we promise you won’t regret it!
Port Douglas is also just a short jaunt up the road and close to an abundance of stunning coral reefs. Both locations are blessed with year-round sunny weather, which means your biggest concern will be remembering to apply sunscreen!
