How did you choose the perfect Reception Venue?

We always wanted a relaxed vibe, we got engaged in Port Douglas and that’s were we wanted to get married. We got engaged in 2018 and had planned to wed the 4th July weekend in 2020 but due to covid this couldn’t happen. We had planned a cocktail reception at the Sugar Wharf and eloped there just us instead and it was beyond perfect.

Tell us about your Wedding Gown/s

I was never a fan of white/ivory gown for myself. I had tried on a few and I just didn’t feel me, for as long as I could remember I had wanted a black dress for my wedding day and when I came across this Zavana dress I knew it was for me. I had a friend on the Gold Coast try it for me which I’m forever grateful for and the team at Pearl Bridal were beyond amazing!

Tell us about your Wedding Suit/s

My husband due to he’s size never could get a jacket to fit him properly so decided to get one tailor made through InStitchu in Brisbane city. They were amazing and he chose everything he wore on our day.

Tell us about your cake/flowers/entertainment/etc

Due to covid we eloped, so we had no entertainment but live streamed our Elopement to family.

We had a cake done by our original cake maker Sara which was amazing.
Gab from Nine Blooms was our florist. She was so on board with our elopement and our moody romantic vibe I wanted, I can not even begin to explain how amazing she was for our day. Our florals show just a hint of how amazing she was, true amazing soul inside and out.

What sort of style did you envision for your wedding?

We wanted a moody romantic style and I think we nailed it.

What was your favourite part of the day?

After almost 3 years engaged, covid and 2 postponements, just being able to enjoy the day we deserved was our favourite part. Everytime we go away for a break it rains, it rained on our first date, the day we got engaged, so seemed fitting for it to rain on our wedding day. And just being able to literally soak it all up just us was perfect.

Any advice for future Bride and Grooms-to-be?

Do you your day ‘Your Way’ – enjoy the process no matter what you decide and whatever you decide to do be true to yourselves. From your dress to what you want, now is more then ever a time to be honest and enjoy the love you have with your partner – be yourselves.

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

We haven’t honeymoon yet due to covid
